It was a pretty ride into school, on this first day of October.
Signs of the season are all around…like this wild apple tree, loaded with fruit, that I spotted alongside the road I drive to work.
Something must have been going on in the Amish community near my school, because this buggy was one of four I saw in the span of less than 10 minutes this morning.
The sun didn’t stay for long, but I’m looking forward to the cooler days and nights, perfect for tea, the pumpkins and mums on the porch,Β and the golden and red-burnished leaves of the maples and oaks all around.
How about you – what do you love about October?Β π
Florida really has little change in color. I’ve grown to accept it, and appreciate traveling north in early fall. Now, due to the summer heat, I have an appreciation for the Atlantic breezes, that is, until they start breaking tree branches off π

I’ve only visited Florida once more than 10 years ago, and it was in the month of October, ironically enough! The temperatures were in the high 90’s and it was very humid during what I expect was a bit of a heat wave for that time of year. I have an appreciation for those who live there year round…I’m much better in snow and cold than hot weather (though I do love the ocean!) Thanks for the comment. π

When I lived in Michigan I loved going to the cider mill for hot apple cider and a piece of hot apple pie. Best time of year of all there!
